Fly Beauty: 5 Spring Runway to Real World Makeup Trends

Spring showers not only brings Mayflowers but in the fashion world, spring brings new trends and styles shown on the runways and the red carpet. Is it possible to take looks seen on celebrities at red carpet events or on runaway models and incorporate them into your daily life? Here are five spring runway trends and how you can make your own bold statement in the office, school or the streets.

Keep the shine-free nail polish trend alive. While most will turn to colorful nails and toes in the spring, the super chic will continue to flaunt shine-free nails. Last year, OPI, Zoya, and Revlon introduced shine-free shades and Essie came out with a mate topcoat. The new additional come from Priti Organic Spa, its an all-natural matte polish. This natural line of polish is free from the scary-sounding chemicals, toluene, formaldehyde, and DPBs. The line features colors that are totally wearable, like a midnight black or a bold violet. If you must rock a bright shade for the spring, use Priti’s matte topcoat so you can turn down the shimmer and not add toxins. Visit pritinyc.com for more info.

Black is the new Black. Black is making a comeback for the spring. In the Jean-Paul Gaultier show the use of black for smoky eyes was all over the runway. In older shows, smoky eyes were not being done in black but in an array of other colors. Cover Girl just released its Smoky Shadow Blast stick, making it easy for even the novice make up girl, to achieve the smoky eye look.

At the Dior show, coral was the look. Eye creases were layered with dark coral while the rest of the lids were adorned with a lighter shade of coral. Coral will work with any skin tone; don’t be afraid to experiment with color. Joise Maran makes a Natural Wonder Powders Palette in beautiful corals that gives you tons of options so you can mix and match your way to becoming a makeup master.

Kim Kardashian recently sported green eyelids on the red carpet. A very bold choice of color that made her brown eyes pop and others green with envy. Choose a green with gold undertones and make it your go to shade for a night out. Lancome just released its Limited Edition Sensational Effects Eye Shadow Quad in Pop’n Green. Lancome uses a micro-aired powder technology that offers supreme smoothness and blendability in the sultriest new green shade.

It’s a stick up! It’s a lipstick revival. Bare lips are out this spring. Huge on the runways, new modern formula lipsticks range from sheer, to super saturated and loads your lips with color and hydration. This spring, try a classic red, a shimmery nude, a pink pout or berry. Try Urban Decay’s Confessions for a deep berry burgundy cream lipstick.

Spring is the symbol of new beginnings, so if you’ve never experimented with colors before this spring, be bold and dare to try something new. Spring forward with style.
